Matt Davidson, PhD is the co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Azora Therapeutics. Dr. Davidson is a serial biotech founder and drug developer with a track record of building companies from concept to FDA approved medicine. He is the inventor and developer of Ycanth®, the first FDA-approved treatment for molluscum contagiosum, which he advanced from founding into Phase 3 as CEO of Verrica Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: VRCA) raising over $100M and taking the company public on NASDAQ in the process. He holds 10 granted U.S. patents. He holds a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley, where he graduated with High Honors. Dr. Davidson earned his PhD in Immunology from Stanford University School of Medicine, where his research on T helper cell regulation and dendritic cell biology was published in the Journal of Immunology, Nature and Nature Medicine.
